The Malta Development Bank (MDB) is a promotional bank set up by the Government of Malta in 2017 in terms of the Malta Development Bank Act, 2017 (CAP.574). The aim of the MDB is to complement commercial banks so as to bridge financial gaps in bankable investments, thereby supporting socio-economic development in Malta, with special focus on SMEs, infrastructure, innovation, digitalisation, education, and other socially-oriented projects.

European Affairs Officer (JobsPlus permit 648/2019)
 
The role of the European Affairs Officer is to assist the Malta Development Bank (MDB) in accessing current and future EU funding opportunities as well as in the design and development of financial instruments with the objective of supporting access to finance to enterprises and infrastructural projects in Malta.
 
The European Affairs Officer is also responsible for building relations with the European Institutions.  The prospective candidate should keep abreast with the latest relevant EU policies and regulations in relation to State Aid and other relevant EU legislative and policy developments.

Senior Compliance Officer (JobsPlus permit 150/2020)
 
Malta Development Bank (MDB) is planning to set up its internal Compliance Unit which oversees the regulatory and compliance aspects of MDB’s overall operations and is therefore seeking to fill the position of Senior Compliance Officer to manage this Unit. The Senior Compliance Officer should be a highly skilled, professional person to ensure that, at every level, MDB’s operations and business transactions comply with all relevant legal and internal rules. The person in this role will also be responsible for providing guidance and advice regarding compliance. 
 
This position reports to the Head Legal & Compliance. Where required by statute, reporting will be directly to the Board of Directors.
